The Young Matrons of Independence, Missouri, have established this scholarship to assist Eastern Jackson County residents pursuing undergraduate degrees.
Eligibility:
- Must be a current resident of Eastern Jackson County, Missouri (East of I-435);
- Must be a graduating senior or past graduate of an Eastern Jackson County high school;
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5;
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at any accredited junior college, college, or university.
Amount:
Up to $1,000 per academic year.
Renewable:
Not a renewable scholarship.
Deadline:
The General Application will be opened December 15 and will be due (including any additional requirements for scholarships you may be matched with) April 1.
Please note that the general application requires transcripts showing grades from Fall Semester 2023. Any applications submitted with transcripts omitting Fall Semester 2023 will not be considered.
Specific Requirements:
- An essay (maximum 500 words) describing your interests, accomplishments, future education plans and why you feel you should receive this scholarship.
- A letter of recommendation from someone in your life who can attest to your personal attributes and ability to be successful in your educational and career pursuits.
