The Harold H., Norma J., and James Allan (Jimmy) Scholarship was established through a bequest from the Schmidt family. This scholarship is to benefit graduating high school seniors from Ray County, Missouri.
Eligibility:
- Must be a graduating senior from a Ray County, Missouri High School; Hardin-Central, Lawson, Orrick, or Richmond;
- Must be an active member of a Baptist Church;
- Must have demonstrated financial need;
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0;
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at any accredited college or university;
Amount:
Up to $5,000 per academic year.
Renewable:
Yes, this scholarship can be renewed for three additional years of funding. A renewal application must be submitted with proof of continuing college enrollment and a minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Deadlines:
General applications and additional requirements are due February 24.
Please note that the general application requires transcripts showing grades from Fall Semester 2022. Any applications submitted with transcripts omitting Fall Semester 2022 will not be considered. We recommend getting started on your application as soon as you have received your Fall Semester 2022 transcripts so you have time to prepare the additional requirements.
Requirements:
- Essay of approximately 500 words, addressing your personal qualities and goals for the future.
- Personal reference from a supervisor of an activity in which you participated
- Personal reference from a pastor who can substantiate your involvement in a Baptist Church.
- A second personal reference, if you choose.
