David A. Hurt was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He and his wife Stacy raised their two sons, Cameron and Andrew, in Lee's Summit.
David spent his career at Burns & McDonnell Engineering. He was very enthusiastic about planning and designing transportation projects including highways, bridges, and trails. Throughout his career, he was a mentor to many.
He had a love of life, a zest for learning, and a strong sense of community. His connection to his hometown of Hannibal and the Lee's Summit area, where his family placed their roots, has built a strong foundation and interest in the success of those in both communities.
