Students
The Signatry established this scholarship at the direction of the Venable family to help develop future Christian leaders and to inform and educate Christian students embarking on a business or engineering college education about the Business as Mission (BAM) movement and the use of business as a tool for completing the Great Commission.
Eligibility:
- Must be a graduating senior from a Kansas City metro-area high school;
- Must be an active member of a Christian church.
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in business or engineering at an accredited Christian college or university in the US or state college or university in Missouri or Kansas.
- Must be enrolled in high school classes to prepare for intended major and maintaining a 3.0 GPA in those classes with a minimum 2.5 GPA overall.
- Preference may be given to students attending Christian colleges and universities holding membership in or accredited by the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), International Alliance for Christian Education (IACE), or the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
- Preference may be given to candidates who have employment history during the school year and/or during the summer.
Amount:
Up to $7,000 per academic year.
Renewable:
This scholarship can be renewed for three additional years of funding. A renewal application must be submitted with proof of continuing college enrollment, participation in a campus ministry program, and a minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Deadline:
The General Application for the 2026-2027 cycle will be available November 14, 2025 and due February 16, 2026 (including any requirements listed below).
Requirements:
- Transcripts showing grades from Fall Semester 2025. Any applications submitted with transcripts omitting Fall Semester 2025 will not be considered.
- Provide an essay of 500 words or less about yourself, your home church, your faith and participation in church and mission/ministry work, your educational and career goals, and your knowledge/understanding of Business as Mission and its use in completing the Great Commission.
