The Forrest and Marjorie Martin Scholarships were established as a bequest from the Marjorie N. Martin Trust and Forrest Martin Marital Trust in 2007. The Technical Scholarship provides assistance to Eastern Jackson County residents pursuing technical trade certifications or associate’s degrees.
Eligibility:
- Must have been a resident of Eastern Jackson County for the past 12 months or a high school graduate of any public or private high school in the Blue Springs, Fort Osage, Grain Valley, Grandview, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Lone Jack, Oak Grove or Raytown school districts;
- Must have demonstrated financial need;
- Must be admitted to a one year trade certificate program or have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 going into the second year of an Associate of Applied Science degree at an accredited junior college, college or university.
Amount:
Up to $2,000 per academic year.
Renewable:
Not a renewable scholarship.
Deadline:
The General Application will be opened December 2 and will be due (including any additional requirements for scholarships you may be matched with) February 14.
Requirements:
- Transcripts showing grades from Fall Semester 2024. Any applications submitted with transcripts omitting Fall Semester 2024 will not be considered.
- Personal reference.
