Contribute to Your Fund There are a number of ways you can contribute to your donor advised fund now to enhance and increase your year-end giving plans. Mail or stop by with a check . Checks should be made to Truman Heartland Community Foundation and include your fund’s name in the memo line. Credit or Debit Card donations can be made online . Visit the Donate to a Fund page, search for your fund and complete the donation form. Donating appreciated stock is one of the most tax-smart ways to give . By donating appreciated stocks directly to your Donor Advised Fund you can maximize your charitable giving dollars while avoiding capital gains taxes. Take advantage of employer matching gifts . Since Truman Heartland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your Donor Advised Fund contributions may be eligible for a matching gift from your employer. Please see you company representative for details. 2020 Year-End Deadlines As you plan for your giving this holiday season, please be mindful for our year-end deadlines. Gifts of appreciated stock should be initiated by December 24, 2020 . Notify your Professional Advisor of the transfer as soon as possible. Checks sent via the U.S. Postal Service or carriers such as FedEx, UPS and DHL must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2020 . Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA must be received by December 31, 2020 . Wire transfers of cash must be initiated no later than December 29, 2020 . Credit card gifts made by phone or online may be made until December 31, 2020 . Grant recommendations should be made in the Donor Portal by noon on December 14, 2020 to ensure checks are received by the end of the year.
