YAC Students Seeks Volunteer Opportunities

Youth Advisory Council (YAC) students are exceptional in so many ways. They are natural leaders with a passion for service and community. YAC students volunteer at nonprofit organizations in and around Eastern Jackson County to do their part in making the region a better place to live, work, and serve. We are currently seeking some new group volunteer opportunities for our YAC students.

Our volunteer groups usually consist of 10-20 high school students from various area schools, accompanied by a few adult chaperones. Due to the many obligations of our students, weekend opportunities are the best attended, although evening activities can be considered. The ideal project would have the students working together as a team, doing transformative work focused on youth or education that provides results they can see right away.

If you know of a nonprofit in the area that fits the bill, please have them reach out to Rachael Watkins, Director of Programs and Donor Services, at or 816.912.4185. We love the opportunity to help our neighbors while enriching our YAC student’s community experience.

We are also seeking new members for the YAC team! Do you know of a student looking for a positive, non-competitive extracurricular activity? YAC just might be the perfect fit! Visit our website to learn more about joining YAC.
