2019 Annual Report: Soaring to New Heights

2019 Annual Report
Published in February, the 2019 annual report celebrates the grants, gifts and actions that strengthened our community last year. The central theme, Soaring to New Heights, serves as a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.

It was a record-breaking year for grantmaking. With more than $4.8 million total granted by fundholders to nonprofits, together we are improving the lives of people throughout the region. And thanks to the support of our donors, in 2019, Truman Heartland granted $306,954 to nonprofits through our competitive grants program and awarded $319,054 in scholarships to deserving students.

Since our start in 1982, your Community Foundation has made it our mission to connect people, ideas and resources to help the community soar. While the coronavirus continues to impact our region, with your generosity, we’ve been able to quickly respond to the crisis and create a path to recovery.

Thank you to fundholders and others who have invested in the community during this crisis. Since mid-March, Truman Heartland donor advised fundholders have awarded more than $240,000 in 72 grants to nonprofits to support COVID-19 relief efforts. And total giving from these donors is up 23% in comparison to the same time last year. These efforts will have an immediate and long-term impact.

We encourage you to flip through the 2019 annual report online and connect with us at info@thcf.org or call 816.836.8189 to request a hard copy of the report.
