Each year our foundation family makes grants totaling $3 million (and growing!) to support the nonprofit organizations, charities, educational institutions, ministries, etc. that are near to their hearts. Our family of donors makes grants that support a diversity of charitable interests including the social, educational, faith, artistic, historic and health-related areas for the region.
Grants are directed from donor funds established at THCF. Each donor advises grant distributions according to their charitable interests. As new donors join with us, total grants made to heartland communities grow accomplishing a greater collective impact than any could do individually.
To ensure grants of impact, many donors opt to benefit from the extensive research conducted by our experienced staff to learn more about heartland issues and leverage their charitable dollars. Through a powerful needs-based approach to grantmaking, we bridge issues in heartland communities with interests of partnering donors. Each year we conduct comprehensive assessments across the region; a summary of needs is then made available to members of our donor family who respond to those issues closest to their hearts. In this way, grants from donor funds are directed where needed and in accordance with their concerns. Visit Grant Recipients to see how donors are leveraging their charitable dollars through our Community Grants Program.
Many donors also opt to use their funds to accomplish personal grantmaking; visit Donor Resources to see how heartland donors are accomplishing their own community grantmaking. Whatever your charitable passion, we welcome your involvement in partnering with us, as other heartland humanitarians have, to make our community a better place to live.
