About Us

The mission of the Truman Heartland Community Foundation is to improve area communities by promoting and serving private giving for the public good.

Community foundations are an American phenomenon first created in 1914 by Frederick H. Goff. The intent was to assist individuals of varied economic backgrounds to pool their resources for solving community needs. In the spirit of this tradition, THCF is dedicated to improving the human condition and, in the process, making charitable giving effective and powerful for the philanthropist and charities they care about. THCF donors believe that we are the best source of information, the wisest investment choice, and a trusted community partner.

As one of the region’s most respected community foundations, THCF helps donors turn charitable dollars into major investments, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.
